On Saturday, August 29, 2026, Icelanders voted in a referendum to decide whether to restart talks to join the European Union. A majority of 52.8% voted "No," choosing to keep the country's full control over its key national fishing industry and local resources. Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir accepted the results, confirming that the government will respect the people's decision and will not push for EU membership talks for at least the next few years. As a result, Iceland will remain outside the EU while continuing its existing trade partnership through the European Economic Area. *Ales Status* ⤵️ https://wa.me/447748745482?text=Hi%2C%20my%20name%20is%20 *Ales Group* ⤵️ https://chat.whatsapp.com/G3IWWQqU9rULqLRcMlrcNM?mlu=0&s=sw&p=a
