UPDATE: Following our earlier post, the road closures are part of the NYC Department of Design and Construction's ongoing Green Infrastructure project. According to the agency's weekly construction schedule, crews are milling the roadway tonight, with additional work planned throughout the week, including excavation, concrete pouring, curb and sidewalk installation, asphalt paving, and cleanup. While the closures caused frustration among motorists, the work is part of a scheduled construction project.
