Will Tesla’s Cybercab Get Approved in New Jersey? Cybercab rides recently began in limited areas of Austin, Texas, and Tesla has already started production. Could New Jersey be next? The state requires special authorization for fully autonomous vehicles, so Tesla will need to satisfy New Jersey’s safety and regulatory requirements before Cybercabs can operate here. There is no confirmed New Jersey launch date yet. A rollout in 2027 or later may be possible, but that is only an estimate—not an official announcement.
