Ukraine: Hundreds of residents have been evacuated from the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky in southern Ukraine following a rare six-day humanitarian ceasefire, brokered with the involvement of US First Lady Melania Trump. The evacuees arrived in Ukrainian-controlled territory today after travelling through Russia and Belarus, where they were reunited with relatives and provided with food and medical assistance. Residents described desperate conditions in the war-ravaged town, with severe food shortages forcing some families to eat grass to survive. The temporary ceasefire also allowed humanitarian aid to reach those who remained behind.
