Nepal: Hundreds of people are missing, including at least 291 foreign tourists, after catastrophic flash flooding struck the Nepal-Tibet border. At least 31 people have been reported killed in Nepal, while the preliminary list of missing tourists includes more than 100 Indians and 12 Britons. Chinese state media has also reported “major casualties” in Tibet. Videos from Nepal show a bridge being swept away and multi-storey buildings collapsing under the force of the floodwaters. Nepal’s foreign minister said preliminary reports suggest an earthquake may have triggered an avalanche, leading to the flash floods.
