UK: Prime Minister Andy Burnham has launched a national drive to get rough sleepers off the streets by Christmas, backed by a £442 million funding package. The Government says everyone sleeping rough in England who needs help will be offered a route off the streets this winter, with new accommodation and support to be rolled out across the country. The initiative will build on measures used during the Covid pandemic, with councils, mayors, charities, faith groups and and other organisations being urged to help.
