Israel: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party has claimed that yesterday’s election was “stolen” by Arab parties, demanding an investigation by police and the Shin Bet into alleged widespread voter fraud and intimidation. Likud accused Arab parties of bribery, threats, violence, forgery and using illegal software to mobilise voters, saying it would submit evidence to the authorities. The allegations follow unprecedented turnout among Arab voters, with the Arab-led parties, Ra’am and the Joint List, projected to reach a historic combined high of 19 seats. Israel’s Central Elections Committee says it has received Likud’s complaint and is examining the allegations as part of its routine election-integrity checks. Join EJN:
