Middle East: A flydubai flight carrying around 180 passengers from Dubai to Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after signalling a possible hijacking. Flight data showed the plane suddenly plunge from 34,000 to around 17,000 feet in under a minute, while Israeli authorities lost contact and scrambled fighter jets. Israeli passengers reported blood in the cockpit and claimed a pilot was stabbed. An unnamed Israeli official told Channel 12 that the co-pilot is being investigated amid indications he may have attempted to seize control and crash the aircraft. flydubai confirmed an “incident” and said all passengers landed safely.
