US: A US judge has ordered President Donald Trump to give evidence under oath by 11 December in his $10 billion (£7.5 billion) defamation lawsuit against the BBC. Trump is suing the broadcaster over a Panorama documentary that edited together separate sections of his speech ahead of the 2021 US Capitol riot, creating the impression that he was directly encouraging violence. Trump cancelled a previously agreed deposition on 16 October, citing “matters of national importance”.
