UK: Following the Metropolitan Police’s decision to take no action against Sarah Helm, wife of the Prime Minister’s national security adviser, over her statement “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action”, a Green Party councillor in Hackney has made a similar declaration. Councillor George Sheldon Grün, who represents Clissold ward, praised Helm as “heroic” and repeated her statement, replacing “authors” with “councillors”. In his Instagram post, he also encouraged others to make similar statements, suggesting that the Met’s decision meant they could now do so “without fear of criminal sanctions”. Join EJN:
