UK: The number of people arrested during today’s demonstration outside the US Embassy in London in support of the banned group Palestine Action has risen to 139, according to the Metropolitan Police. Among those arrested was a woman holding a sign reading, “God help us retirees who support Palestine and Palestine Action.” The arrest has raised questions after Sarah Helm, wife of the UK’s National Security Adviser, wrote: “God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action.” The Met previously said her post did not meet the threshold for a criminal offence and took no further action.
