Middle East: A US service member has been killed on Saturday in northern Iraq after an Iranian attack, the US military said, a day after an attack on a base in Jordan killed two US soldiers and left another missing. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the service member was killed during "a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance" from a downed Iranian attack drone, which also wounded a second service member. CENTCOM also said it had found "unidentified remains" during a search of the site of Friday's attack in Jordan, adding: "An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing." The update comes as the US and Iran exchanged strikes for an eighth consecutive day, with both sides intensifying their attacks.
