France: A synagogue in Paris was ransacked overnight, with tefillin, sefarim and other items found scattered across the floor. Cupboards and the rabbi’s office were searched, although nothing was reported stolen and the Sifrei Torah were said to have been left untouched. A member of the Ohalei Yaakov synagogue committee said the intruders appeared to have been looking for money, but did not rule out an antisemitic motive. He also said there had been no rioting in the immediate area, although any connection to the nationwide unrest remains unclear.
