US: Venezuela's captured president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have appeared in a US court over drugs trafficking charges. A judge set 1 June 2027 as the trial date in one of the most consequential criminal cases in recent US history. The couple were dramatically captured by US Special Forces during a night-time raid on their home in Caracas on 3 January, ordered by US President Donald Trump.
