UK: Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis has warned that Britain’s civilisation is under attack, accusing the country’s leadership of turning a blind eye to threats against its culture, identity and values. In an interview with Jewish News, he said: “Our civilisation is under attack and my fear is exacerbated because I believe that our national leadership is choosing to turn a blind eye to that direct threat.” He also expressed concern about rising antisemitism and the weakening of Britain’s traditional Judeo-Christian values, but stressed that there was currently no need for Jewish families to flee the country. “The silent majority is very much with us and supportive of Israel. I wish though that the silent majority would become more vocal and that is desperately something that we want people around the country to appreciate.” Join EJN:
