US: President Donald Trump is meeting Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, where he said he would be willing to speak directly with Hezbollah if Aoun wanted him to. “I would speak to Hezbollah. I speak to everybody. I’ll speak to people that a lot of people think I shouldn’t be speaking to, and things work out,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office adding that “If the president wanted me to speak to Hezbollah, I would.” Asked whether the US would provide assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces as they seek to disarm Hezbollah, Trump declined to give a clear answer, saying he would discuss the matter privately with Aoun.
