Middle East: After several nights of relative calm, the US military accused Iran of attempting a “surprise attack” overnight on Tuesday, saying Tehran launched “multiple” ballistic missiles at American forces in the Middle East. US Central Command said all the missiles were “successfully intercepted”. US and Saudi fighter aircraft then struck multiple sites across eastern Iraq, which CENTCOM said were linked to Iran-aligned forces “directed to attack” US forces and Saudi energy infrastructure.
