UK: Pro-Palestinian students marched through central London on the third anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terror attacks, despite repeated calls from police and Jewish groups for the demonstration to be moved to another date. Around 100 protesters gathered at Lincoln’s Inn Fields before marching to Russell Square, chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”. They were met by pro-Israel counter-protesters carrying Israeli flags, with heated exchanges between the two sides. The Met Police had imposed strict conditions on the march, including an order requiring protesters to remove face coverings. Footage showed several demonstrators with their faces covered, although police said most removed them after being warned by officers. The Met said one person was arrested for refusing to remove a face covering, while five others were arrested for breaching protest conditions.
