Canada: Four military personnel have been killed and dozens seriously injured after a major fire broke out at a Canadian military base in Alberta. The blaze began at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright, one of the country's busiest military training facilities. Prime Minister Mark Carney described the fire as “violent” and “fast-moving”, calling it one of the worst peacetime tragedies in Canada's military history. The fire has now been contained, but emergency crews remain at the scene. The cause is under investigation, with defence officials saying there is currently no indication of terrorism.
