UK: The SNP, Plaid Cymru and Sinn Fein have signed a “historic” pact pledging to break up the United Kingdom. The first ministers of the UK’s three devolved nations – Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – signed the memorandum of understanding in Cardiff today. The agreement said “there could be no clearer sign that Westminster’s time is coming to an end”, noting that all three separatist parties were now in power for the first time after Plaid Cymru’s victory in the Welsh elections in May.
