Tech: Elon Musk has unveiled Tesla’s long-awaited “flying car”, an electric sports car capable of launching into the air, performing flips and accelerating from 0 to 60mph in just 0.81 seconds. The redesigned Tesla Roadster uses rocket-style thrusters developed with SpaceX. During a demonstration in Texas, the car drove upside down along a curved ramp before launching into the air and landing safely. The Roadster also propelled itself over a row of stationary vehicles, performing a mid-air flip before landing. Tesla claims the vehicle can reach speeds exceeding 230mph, with production planned for 2028.
