UK: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations of a landmark review into antisemitism in English schools and colleges, published today. The independent review, led by Sir David Bell, found that three in five Jewish pupils aged 16–19 had experienced or witnessed antisemitism, warning that antisemitism has become increasingly casual and widespread. Measures include encouraging schools to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, introducing dedicated teacher training, strengthening guidance on discussing Israel and the Middle East, and improving the reporting of antisemitic incidents. Education Secretary Lucy Powell described the findings as a “generational moment” and pledged to implement the recommendations, with Sir David commissioned to review progress after one year.
