Europe: France has criticised a Reform UK plan to use the Navy to turn back migrant boats, warning that the proposals would violate its sovereignty and breach international law. Nigel Farage’s party earlier announced plans to intercept boats crossing the English Channel and return migrants to French ports, even without France’s agreement. Opposition parties have described the plan as unworkable, while a Labour minister said it would result in "a lot of time arguing with France" rather than "actually getting to grips with the problem".
