Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in an exclusive interview with Arutz Sheva-Israel National News that President Donald Trump's endorsement of his reelection bid came as a complete surprise, denying reports that he had sought the American President's public support. "Not once," Netanyahu responded when asked whether he had requested the endorsement. Asked if Trump's announcement surprised him, he replied: "Completely. I didn't know." Netanyahu also revealed that Trump told him he had personally written the endorsement statement. The Prime Minister contrasted Trump's support for him with what he described as support for his rival Gadi Eisenkot from Arab party leaders Mansour Abbas and Ahmed Tibi. "So choose," Netanyahu stated.
