BREAKING - Israel: Israel will close the British Consulate in Jerusalem in response to the UK’s new measures targeting Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has announced. Saar said the move follows a “series of anti-Israel decisions” by the Labour government and accused Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband of “outrageous lies”. He described the Labour government as “hostile”, saying it is “systematically working against the state of Israel”. Israel will also ban 12 elected British officials from entering the country, accusing them of being “involved in anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic activities”. Saar also said British representatives would be expelled from the International Centre for Assistance in Gaza and Kiryat Gat.
