*10 Arrested In Miami-Dade Disabled Parking Permit Fraud Ring* Miami-Dade deputies arrested 10 people tied to a scheme using fake doctor signatures to get handicap parking permits. Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez laid it out Monday in Doral. Some of the applications carried the signature of a doctor who retired in 2020 and died in 2025. Other doctors said the applicants were never their patients. Two suspects, Alexander Campo and Rafael Brito, allegedly charged people up to $200 each for the tags. Authorities say the fraud hits legitimate disabled drivers and local parking revenue. Coral Gables parking revenue is already down 34%. The tax collector’s office is now auditing all applications. About 75,000 have been reviewed this year. Roughly 6,000 are flagged.
