*Missing Cinnamon Rolls Were Never Stolen. Border Patrol Stopped The Uber Driver Mid-Delivery* South Florida bakery owner Julie Pierre thought an Uber courier took off with about $3,100 worth of cinnamon rolls last Saturday. The 21-year-old founder of Roll and Dough had packed hundreds of her viral Japanese milk-bread rolls for the Yellow Green Farmers Market in Hollywood. The driver never showed. She called and texted for hours. Nothing. The story blew up on TikTok. The real explanation came days later. U.S. Border Patrol stopped the driver, Ivan Dario Rico Molano, around 8:50 a.m. on southbound I-95 near Sheridan Street after a records check. CBP said the Colombian citizen admitted he was in the country without legal authorization after overstaying a 2021 entry. He was taken to the Dania Beach station. A family member later picked up the vehicle. The crates of cinnamon rolls were still inside. Sunrise Police confirmed no theft occurred. The rolls were returned Thursday, but they were no longer sellable and had to be thrown out. Pierre apologized for initially calling it a theft. Uber reimbursed her.
