*Florida Democrats Nominate Jacksonville Lawmaker Reprimanded For Pink Megaphone Protest* Jacksonville state Rep. Angie Nixon is the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. A video of her walking the Florida House floor in a bright pink jumpsuit, shouting into a matching pink megaphone during the April vote on new congressional maps, is circulating again. Nixon, a sitting lawmaker at the time, called the maps illegal and unconstitutional while members were voting. The House still passed the DeSantis-backed plan 83-28. Two Democrats later said they accidentally voted yes during the disruption. In May, the House Rules and Ethics Committee issued Nixon a formal reprimand, the first of its kind in more than 20 years. She said she would do it again, “with a bigger pink megaphone.” Nixon later staged a sit-in at Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office over the same maps and was arrested. She now faces Republican Sen.
