*Donalds Warns Jolly Would End School Choice In Florida* Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds is sounding the alarm over Democrat David Jolly’s education plans. Donalds says a Jolly win would put Florida’s popular school choice program at risk. In a recent post, Donalds wrote: “This is the type of stuff that Florida simply cannot afford. We CANNOT afford a radical David Jolly!” Jolly, the Democratic nominee, has repeatedly said he would keep the voucher program but add new rules and accountability standards for private schools that accept publicsc dollars. He also calls for major new investment in public schools and higher teacher pay. Donalds and other Republicans argue those changes would effectively dismantle the current system that lets families use state funds for private school, homeschooling, and other options. School choice remains one of the biggest flashpoints in the race to replace Gov. Ron DeSantis.
