Rabbi David Perets Continues Elul Series Tonight In Surfside Rabbi David Perets is back at The Sephardic Center tonight for the second class in a three-week Elul series ahead of the Yamim Nora’im. The class starts right after Arvit, from 8:00 to 9:00 PM, at 9524 Abbott Ave in Surfside. Last week’s shiur focused on Rosh Hashanah simanim, including whether they come before or after Hamotzi and whether apple or date comes first. Tonight is week two of three. The final class is next Thursday, September 10. Perets is founder and Rosh Beit Midrash of Beit Midrash L’Halacha in South Florida. The series is meant to be practical and timely heading into Rosh Hashanah, which begins next Friday night. Florida Scoop’s Take: If you’re in Surfside or Bal Harbour and still lining up your High Holiday prep, this is an easy one-hour stop after Arvit.
