*NWS Miami: Isolated Storms, Quiet Evening By SoFlo Standards* NWS Miami said the Monday evening radar was relatively quiet for South Florida. Thunderstorms were isolated, not the usual widespread afternoon mess. Most of the stronger cells were inland. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach were largely dry around 6 p.m. Winds stayed light. About 10 mph from the southeast in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Around 9 mph from the east in Homestead. Isolated storms here still mean one neighborhood can get a quick downpour and lightning while the next street stays dry. Check radar before you head out. *Florida Scoop’s Take:* In August, “quiet for SoFlo” is as close as we get to a break. Enjoy it while it lasts.
