*Donalds: Florida Cannot Allow Sharia Law To Take A Foothold* GOP gubernatorial nominee Byron Donalds told a town hall at The Villages that keeping Sharia law out of Florida is the No. 1 way to prepare the state for the possibility of another 9/11. “We cannot have Sharia law take a foothold in our state. Absolutely not,” Donalds said. The comments come days before the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Several of the hijackers lived in Florida and trained on flight simulators here. Florida already moved on this earlier this year. In April, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law blocking courts from applying foreign or religious law, including Sharia, if it would violate constitutional rights.
