*Shofar Blown At Lubavitch Aventura South On Chai Elul* Rabbi Roberto blew the shofar this morning at Lubavitch Aventura South as the community marked Chai Elul. Chai Elul, the 18th of Elul, falls today, Monday, August 31. In Chabad communities it is treated as a day of life and renewal. It is the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov and of Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe. The shofar is already being sounded daily throughout Elul after Shacharis, a wake-up call heading into Rosh Hashanah. Hearing it on Chai Elul at 18449 NE 28th Court carries extra weight for local families who daven there. Lubavitch Aventura South, directed by Rabbi Mendel Rosenfeld, serves the south side of Aventura with weekday minyanim, Shabbat meals, and year-round programming. *Florida Scoop’s Take*: Elul is already in the air in Aventura. The shofar made it official.
