*SpaceX Falcon Heavy Launches NASA’s Roman Telescope From Kennedy* NASA’s next-generation Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off at 7:26 a.m. Sunday from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy carried the observatory off the Cape on a mission NASA says is about nine months ahead of its formal May 2027 target. The telescope will head toward a point about a million miles from Earth and survey huge stretches of the sky. Scientists plan to use it to study dark energy, dark matter, distant galaxies, and planets beyond our solar system. Florida residents near the Space Coast also got the familiar follow-up. Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters returned to Cape Canaveral after launch. Roman is NASA’s newest flagship observatory after Hubble and Webb. It is built for wide, fast surveys rather than staring at one object at a time. *Florida Scoop’s Take:* Another early Sunday launch from Kennedy, and another reminder that the Cape is still the front door for some of the biggest science missions on the planet.
