*DeSantis: Florida Cut Its Budget Four Years In A Row* Gov. Ron DeSantis says Florida reduced its state budget for four consecutive years. The clip is spreading Wednesday, and the line landing hardest is simple: “Don’t tell me it can’t be done.” He signed a $117.6 billion budget in June after roughly $1.6 billion in vetoes. Florida is holding about $18 billion in reserves, the rainy day fund is fully funded, and state debt has been paid down. Schools, roads, public safety, and Everglades work still got money. The state workforce is smaller than when he took office, even as Florida’s population grew. *Florida Scoop’s Take:* Plenty of governments swear spending can only go one direction. Florida just spent four years proving otherwise.
