*Fossella Proposes Empty Lot to Clear Port Truck Lines Near the Goethals Bridge* Borough President Vito Fossella proposed on Thursday turning a vacant Port Authority lot at Richmond Terrace and Western Avenue in Mariners Harbor into a waiting area for trucks headed to the Port Liberty terminal, formerly Howland Hook. According to a diagram from his office, the lot would hold about 36 trucks, with the entrance on Richmond Terrace. Trucks waiting to get into the port now line up on the local streets right next to the Goethals Bridge, blocking residents of a nearby mobile home park. The plan would move those trucks off the streets, but would not affect traffic on the bridge itself.
