*Free 2-K Coming to Staten Island Next Fall* Free childcare for 2-year-olds will expand to all of Staten Island in fall 2027, Mayor Mamdani and Gov. Hochul announced today. The borough was left out of the program’s initial rollout this September. The expansion will add 10,000 seats citywide, bringing the total to more than 12,000. The program will offer full-day, year-round care through participating childcare centers and licensed family childcare providers. Application dates and details on local placements have not yet been announced.
