*Red Light Cameras Now Installed at 600 NYC Intersections* NYC has installed red light cameras at 600 intersections across the five boroughs, including Staten Island, reaching the maximum allowed under state law, Mayor Mamdani and DOT Commissioner Mike Flynn announced today. Red light running was involved in 22% of fatal crashes at intersections from 2023 to 2025. At camera locations, red light running has dropped by more than 80%, while injuries from T-bone crashes fell 70% and from rear-end collisions nearly 60%. In 2025, 95% of drivers caught received no more than one or two violations. Safety advocates are pushing Albany to reauthorize and expand the program next year. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
