*Orionid Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight* The Orionid meteor shower, created by debris left behind by Halley’s Comet, peaks tonight into early Thursday morning. Under dark skies, the shower can produce up to 20 meteors per hour, though a bright moon will make fainter ones harder to see for much of the night. On Staten Island, the best viewing window is from about 3:15 a.m., when the moon sets, until around 6 a.m., before the sky begins to brighten ahead of the 7:15 a.m. sunrise. Skies are expected to be largely clear. Viewers should find a spot away from streetlights, give their eyes about 15 minutes to adjust, and look at as wide a section of the sky as possible. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
