*Health Investigation: Water System Under Review at Staten Island Apartments* The NYC Health Department is investigating the hot water system at Castleton Park Apartments, at 185 St. Marks Place in St. George, after two residents developed Legionnaires’ disease within a year. Testing confirmed Legionella bacteria in the building’s water system. The illness is a type of pneumonia caused by breathing in contaminated water droplets. Officials say there is no indication of risk to the surrounding community, and cleanup measures are underway. Borough President Vito Fossella yesterday urged swift action to clean the system. Building residents should follow the Health Department’s water-use guidance, particularly those at higher risk, including older adults and people with weakened immune systems. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
