SUKKOS STORM: Rescues and Road Closures — Part 2 FDNY rescued a driver from a flooded vehicle on Bayview Avenue on Shabbos; no medical treatment was needed. Vehicles became stranded on Travis Avenue, sections of Arthur Kill Road closed, and a fallen tree brought down power lines across Nelson Avenue. City crews also repeatedly pumped water from Doty Avenue in South Beach. Empty tractor-trailers and tandem trailers were banned from the Verrazzano Bridge during the storm. By Sunday, all permitted trucks were directed to the lower level. Drier weather is expected Tuesday, with temperatures reaching the 70s through much of Chol Hamoed.
