*Ambulance Delays: Staten Island Fares Better as NYC Waits Grow* Ambulances took an average of 13 minutes and 9 seconds to reach life-threatening emergencies across NYC during the year ending June 30, 2026, according to the Mayor’s Management Report. Staffing shortages and growing demand have contributed to longer waits. Staten Island performed better in a separate study of 2024 calls: 82% of advanced life support responses arrived within 10 minutes, the highest share among the five boroughs. These long waits highlight the tremendous value of Hatzolah, whose volunteer members can reach patients far sooner — sometimes in under a minute, depending on how close a member is to the call. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
