*St. George Plan Could Reshape Staten Island’s Skyline* A city proposal calls for towers reaching 30 stories along the St. George waterfront — roughly 10 stories taller than Staten Island’s existing Castleton Park apartment towers. The plan includes seven buildings with 2,500 apartments near Empire Outlets and on the site of the never-completed New York Wheel, a giant Ferris wheel project originally spearheaded by heimishe developer Meir Laufer. Residents have raised concerns about building heights and blocked waterfront views. No developers have been selected, and rezoning and environmental review are still needed. Construction is proposed for 2029–2036. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
