NYC To Double Number Of Bus Stops With Real-Time Arrival Screens The city plans to double the number of bus stops with digital screens showing real-time arrival information, expanding from about 700 stops to roughly 1,400 across all five boroughs, with work expected to begin this year and a longer-term goal of 2,900 stops by 2030. Screens will be installed at bus shelters and on bus stop poles, with locations chosen based on ridership, so riders can see when the next bus is coming and avoid unnecessary waits, as part of a broader plan with the state and the MTA to improve bus service.
