*City Releases 40,000 More 9/11 Records to the Public for the First Time in 25 Years* Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the NYC Law Department announced Wednesday the release of 40,000 additional city records related to the September 11 attacks, making them public for the first time in 25 years. The documents were added to the city's 9/11 records portal, created last month, which now holds more than 200,000 pages, including the long-discussed Harding Memo and the materials known as the "68 Boxes." The release is the second installment under a court agreement between the city and 911 Health Watch, after a multiyear legal fight over what officials knew about air quality near Ground Zero. First responders and families of victims of 9/11-related illnesses have demanded the records for years. The city's FY27 budget includes $34 million to build and maintain the portal, and officials said additional records will be released in the coming months.
