*NY Unemployment System Shuts Down Tonight for Upgrade* The New York State Department of Labor's unemployment system goes offline today, Monday, at 5 p.m. for about 9 to 12 days while it is replaced with a new system. During that time, no one will be able to file a new claim, certify for weekly benefits, or make changes online or by phone. Anyone collecting should file or certify for the week ending November 1 before 5 p.m. today. Payments will be delayed, but will be paid in full once claims are filed in the new system. Weekly work-search activities are still required. *_Join the Island Media WhatsApp Status_* https://wa.me/19297271071?text=Subscribe *_Join the Island News and Updates group_* https://chat.whatsapp.com/Bi5MGP3Nx1qJUoVkKmYW5j
