IDF Chief: “The Israeli Soldier Does Not Forget” IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir addressed the Route 443 terrorist attack during a memorial ceremony for fallen soldiers of the Armored Corps. “We must address the attack at the Maccabim checkpoint, in which an IDF reserve soldier was seriously wounded,” Zamir said. “We will continue to act with determination, strength and responsibility to suppress terrorist organizations and ensure the security of every citizen and soldier in Israel. We pray for his recovery.” Speaking about Israel’s fallen soldiers, Zamir added: “The Israeli soldier does not forget. The memory of his comrades is an inseparable part of his identity.”
