*Declassified Footage Reveals Dramatic Rescue of U.S. Airmen From Iran* Newly declassified footage aired by 60 Minutes shows the rescue of two U.S. Air Force officers after their F-15E was shot down over Iran in April. The two officers, identified by the mission call signs “Alpha” and “Bravo,” landed about five miles apart in mountainous terrain south of Isfahan as Iranian forces searched for them. Alpha was rescued eight hours later in a risky daylight mission involving 21 U.S. aircraft. Bravo, suffering a broken back and other injuries, remained behind enemy lines for roughly 50 hours and climbed a 7,000-foot ridge before U.S. pararescuers reached him.
