*Netanyahu’s Office Denies Report of Egyptian Warning Before October 7* The Prime Minister’s Office rejected a report by The Atlantic that Egypt warned Israel of an impending Hamas escalation before the October 7 massacre. The PMO said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu neither met nor spoke with then-Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel in the months before the attack and that no Israeli intelligence official passed such a warning to him. The Atlantic reported that Kamel traveled to Israel on September 26, 2023, and warned senior Israeli officials about a potentially major escalation from Gaza. It remains unclear which Israeli officials he met.
