*Attorney: Abu Shehadeh Article Could Justify Criminal Prosecution for Terror Support* Attorney David Peled told Radio 103FM that former Balad leader Sami Abu Shehadeh should face criminal prosecution, not merely possible disqualification from running for the Knesset. Peled pointed to an article Abu Shehadeh published on October 8, 2023, a day after the October 7 massacre, arguing that its text and accompanying imagery crossed the legal threshold for incitement and support for terrorism. The Attorney General and State Attorney have separately said the October 8 article may provide grounds for finding support for armed struggle, and urged the Central Elections Committee to seriously consider Abu Shehadeh’s disqualification.
